Welcome to the Kitsap County Bar Association
Our mission is to build professional collegiality among our members and serve as a resource for those in our community who need legal assistance. The Kitsap County Bar Association is a non-profit association formed in 1935 when attorney Merrill Wallace became the first President of the Association. Since then many traditions have been established and continue on today.
The first Friday of each month, the KCBA holds a monthly lunch meeting. On the first Friday of May, KCBA and Superior Court co-host the Law Day Ceremony and Luncheon to celebrate our profession, to honor local student participants in our essay-writing contest, to honor local U.S. Navy legal staff, and to recognize a local non-lawyer whose community involvement advanced the state of the law. At Law Day we also award the Merrill Wallace Scholarship, which pays the tuition for up to two students attending Olympic College. On a Saturday in October, KCBA presents the Poulsbo CLE, our half-day CLE and dinner. In late January, we install our new bar officers and recognize Kitsap lawyers for their community involvement, pro bono work, professionalism, and leadership. And in Courtroom 212, KCBA maintains its Wall of Honor, a pictorial history of our colleagues who have passed on.
